Why importers are adding Vietnam to their supply chain
Over the last few years Vietnam has become the main alternative to China for many consumer products. US importers use it to reduce their exposure to tariffs on Chinese goods. European buyers can benefit from lower duties under the EU–Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) when the rules of origin are met. And for everyone, a second sourcing country means less risk if one supplier or one country runs into trouble.
Vietnam is not the answer for every product. Its industrial base is smaller than China's, raw materials are often imported from China, and minimum orders can be higher. That is why we don't push one country: we quote the same product from Vietnam and from China and compare price, minimum order, lead time and landed cost in your market.
What we source in Vietnam
- Garments and textiles: knitwear, woven garments, sportswear, workwear, embroidery and home textiles
- Furniture and home goods: wooden and rattan furniture, home décor, ceramics and kitchenware
- Footwear and bags: casual shoes, sandals, backpacks and accessories
- Food products: Robusta and Arabica coffee, cashews, pepper and other agricultural products
- OEM and private label: your brand, your packaging, your specification
How we work in Vietnam
- Factory search and visits: we check the business registration, export history, capacity and the real production line
- Origin check: we confirm where the main production steps really happen, which matters for tariffs and for EVFTA rules of origin
- Negotiation: prices, MOQs, lead times and payment terms, with a clear comparison against Chinese quotes
- Samples and quality control: sample approval, in-line checks and pre-shipment inspection with photos and video
- Packing and shipping: compliant labels for the US, EU, Gulf or Amazon FBA, and freight from Ho Chi Minh City or Hai Phong to your port or warehouse
Vietnam vs China at a glance
- Choose Vietnam for labor-intensive products (garments, footwear, furniture), when US tariff exposure is a priority, or when EVFTA duty savings apply to your product.
- Choose China for the widest product range, complex components, small MOQs, fast sampling and the most mature supply chains.
- Use both to split volume, keep prices competitive and protect your supply.
